Peter Iliff (PATRIOT GAMES\, VARSITY BLUES) and writer/director Rick King (THE KILLING TIME\, HOT SHOT) as we break down their two incredible collaborations from the early 90s\, POINT BREAK and PRAYER OF THE ROLLERBOYS! \nOne is an undisputed classic that defined an era of pop culture\, and the other is a criminally underseen cult film that most of your cult film friends haven’t caught yet. What both films share is an authenticity and a love for the spirit of Southern California that has rarely been nailed as purely on-screen anywhere else. \nJoin us as we sit down with Mr. Iliff and Mr. King between the films for a Q&A where we’ll dive into where their inspiration came from\, what the filming process was like for both movies\, and how it’s felt to see the characters they created inspire multiple generations of film fans. \n \nOn May 17th\, little hand says it’s time to rock and roll. Join us for one of the baddest ass film nights San Diego has ever seen. \nSchedule:\nDoors: 6:30 PM\nPOINT BREAK Screening: 7 PM sharp\nQ&A: 9:10-9:30 PM\nPRAYER OF THE ROLLERBOYS Screening: 9:30-11:05 PM \nStay for as much of the show as you can\, but don’t miss the Q&A! \nPOINT BREAK Synopsis: \nStory by Rick King and W. Peter Iliff\nScreenplay by W. Peter Iliff\nDirected by Kathryn Bigelow \nIn Los Angeles\, a gang of bank robbers commit their crimes while wearing masks of former U.S. Presidents. The FBI believes that the members of the gang could be surfers\, and send young agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) undercover at the beach to mix with the surfers and gather information. Utah meets surfer Bodhi (Patrick Swayze)\, and gets drawn into the lifestyle of his new friend.
