SUMMARY:HeartSong: A Night of Cacao & Music Medicine
DESCRIPTION:We warmly welcome you to this family-vibes night of medicine music. A collective of more than 20 musicians\, from emerging to seasoned professionals\, are coming together for this healing night of song and community. \nWe’ll take turns sharing songs from the heart in the service of healing and contribution to a more harmonious\, loving world. As we do\, we’ll love to invite your voice in with us! There will be many opportunities to sing\, and other moments to lay back and receive. Expect everything from soothing\, sound healing lullabies to rocking dance parties. Wear whatever feels comfy and come as you are. \nTickets are $20 in advance here\, or $25 cash or Venmo at the door. Doors open at 6:30pm for socializing and cacao provided by MayaMoon. There will be a short\, guided cacao meditation offered at 7pm (one 4oz serving of cacao is included in your ticket) followed by an intimate and participatory concert. A bar will be available to purchase additional cacao beverages or water throughout the evening. \nAll ages welcome. Kids 5 and under are free\, kids 6-12 are $10.

On October 30th\, join us\, along with our co-presenter Verbatim Books\, as we bring STEPHEN KING’S SILVER BULLET back to the big screen for our First Ever Halloween Bash\, with the director of the film\, Dan Attias\, joining us live for a post-film discussion. \nIn the small town of Tarker’s Mills\, Maine\, brutal killings start to plague the tight knit community. A young boy named Marty Coslaw (Corey Haim) is convinced that the murders are the doing of a werewolf\, and with the help of his Uncle Red (Gary Busey)\, they investigate the crimes. \nSTEPHEN KING’S SILVER BULLET is the rare horror film that’s just as concerned with creating a sense of wonder and enchantment as it is with delivering thrills. And that’s why it’s left such a lasting imprint on us over the years. DESCRIPTION:On April 27\, 2024\, AABA will host the free musical walkabout\, Adams Avenue Unplugged. This event features over 60+ live musical performances inside restaurants\, bars\, and coffee houses along a two-mile stretch of Adams Avenue from University Heights on the West\, through Normal Heights\, and into parts of Kensington to the East. It also has performances outdoors at various patio locations\, including the Smitty’s Food Court and Lestat’s Coffeehouse. The AABA hopes to treat musical aficionados and foodies to the rich neighborhood culture. \nAdams Avenue Unplugged is free and open to the general public\, except for the headliner concert series. This year’s headliner is the California Guitar Trio!
